Artist Paulette Snijders
Who is Paulette Snijders,
Artist and Sculpturer
Paulette Snijders-Bremen, born in Kerkrade (1946) studied in Maastricht at
the main Academy of Art and the Jan van Eyck Academy. She completed her
study with workshops and courses with the artist Frans de Haas in The Haque
(etches), Indonesian batiks at the Academy in Delft and a study of
philosophy at the Arcus college in Heerlen.
The work history of Paulette was just as turbulent as her existence. She
worked in Germany, Spain, Algeria and at various places in the Netherlands.
Her vision of life is the result of the protective Western culture, also under
the influence of her four years in Spain and the struggle for life in the desert
of Algeria, as well as many journeys to exotic countries.
Paulette’s most important incentive in review of her art is: Emotion!
Love, anger, restlessness, aggression and warmth are portrayed in striking
passages of abstract and figurative. The recurring elements are love of
nature, humanity and the longing for aesthetic beauty.
